The Abel Tasman National Park was a good base for boat trips and tramps.
The standard trip is to take a water taxi along the coast where you get off to do a tramp to a point where you are picked up several hours later.
We did the walk from Medlands Beach to Anchorage Bay, a very varied part of the NP.
There were a lot of scenic look outs, a swing bridge and a cool pool with the grand name of Cleopatra's Pool.
The following day we went inland to Takaka Hill one of the highest points within the NP.
