At the end of our Botswana Safari we had a two night stay in Zimbabwe to see the Victoria Falls, staying in the nearby town of Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls is considered the world’s largest waterfall being over 1.7 Km in width and over 100 m in height. The amount of water flowing depends on the time of year. By visiting in mid May we were at the end of the rainy season meaning that the Zambezi river was at its mightiest and that we experienced the Falls at their most magnificent power.

We started at the Western end of the Falls by the Devil’s Cataract and moved Eastwards along the opposite rim. Even though it was a hot cloudless couple of days, we needed the ponchos. Depending on the direction of the wind – at times we felt we were walking through a power shower with water being directed up as well as down on us. I used my old camera in a waterproof pouch to take some of the photos.
