Sand boarding was tremendous fun on some really high sand dunes. Ann showing her style!
Its a long way down .......at up to 80Km/hr.......... Not for the feint-hearted.
...but it is a long slow climb back up after each run.
The Tandem was fun ........
......for the on-lookers! Luckily we were both unscathed
It was all well worth it. The views were tremendous from the top.
The dunes in the Namib-Naukluft National Park were huge, but.......
The sand dunes in Sossusvlei are vast. They are the highest in the world. The dots on the top of this sand dune are people walking along the ridge.
Some of these dunes are over 300 meters high.
We cheated and decided to go up just a small one.
However even a small dune was a lengthy climb.
The Dead Vlei on the far right is a petrified forest over 500 years old.
