Adelaide is the capital of the only freely-settled British province in Australia. The lack of a convict background lends an air of quaint genteel snobbishness to the city. I liked the place.
Being a planned city, mostly laid out in a grid pattern it was very easy travelling round it. We particularly enjoyed the Botanic Gardens and having a picnic lunch on the lawns of Victoria Square.
The National Wine Centre was high on the places to visit. You buy tokens and then select the wines to sample. We sampled quite a few!
The Gorge Wildlife Park was a small zoo where Ann & I managed to cuddle Koalas. The experience was like holding a bag of smelly potatoes. They don't do much except eat & sleep.
The visit to Kangaroo Island was a long excursion, which on hindsight we could have skipped.
