Osborne from the Gardens
Osborne House
|
Queen Victoria & Prince Albert designed their family house by the sea in the then trendy "Italianate" style.
Another English Heritage site.
On a fine day, it makes for a splendid day's visit.
The "family house" is the central Pavilion to the left of the Tower. The rest of the complex are state rooms & apartments.
The Calydonian Boar keeping guard by the visitor's entrance. Behind is the wing housing the Indian Durbar Room - the most exotic room in Osborne.
All the statues in the gardens were wrapped up for winter protection.
