The Orbit is a 115 metre high sculpture and observation tower and is Britain's largest piece of public art.

Designed by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, it is certainly a striking design for a tower - challenging what I would normally expect a tower to look like. It is almost twice the height of the nearby Olympic stadium.

When we visited in June 2013, the Olympic Park was a massive building site, with most of the stadia being refurbished to turn them into permanent venues.

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is open to visitors, giving great views of the Olympic site & East London.
