Jerash is a large sprawling site with some poor recent reconstructions. The city was old by the time Pompey conquered the region in the 1st century AD.
An unusual feature is a capital on the bottoms of the pilasters on Hadrian's arch.
The Hippodrome was very large. Only a fraction of it has been restored.
Though the floor of the Plaza is mostly original, old photographs show that many of the columns and their entablatures have been recreated.
