Claimed to be the world's oldest Arboretum. Now however it is little more than a large, run down garden.
My guide book indicated that this tiny chapel in Trsteno housed a work by Titian (or possibly - School of Titian). The chapel was locked and none of the locals had any idea about it. This photo was taken through a side window.
The chapel is in a poor state of repair, with the painting casually propped up on the altar.
There are two villages called Ston - Veliki Ston & Mali Ston on either side of the hill in the photo. For defensive purposes a wall was built in the 15th century. Claiming to be the second longest such wall after the Great Wall of China, I was a little disappointed to find it is only a little over 4 miles long. Maybe the Croatians had not heard of Hadrian's Wall?
