Rock of Cashel

There are many myths & legends linking St Patrick’s conversion of the Irish to Christianity to this site, including that of the King of Munster at the Rock. The location has a commanding position overseeing the plain of Cashel in County Tipperary. According to Wikipedia “The picturesque complex has a character of its own and is one of the most remarkable collections of Celtic art and medieval architecture to be found anywhere in Europe.”
Apparently when the late Queen Elizabeth II visited Ireland in 2011, she particularly wanted to visit the Rock of Cashel and touchingly there are many photos of her visit proudly displayed in the Hall of The Vicars Choral.
