Jurmala is a popular long (24 K) sandy beach a short distance from Riga & hence is the main seaside destination for “Rigans” at weekends – we were there on a Monday. A straight clean beach. If you get there after the tide has washed in, you may be lucky & find amber. We met our guide, Lukas’ wife & family here & she showed us the amber she had collected earlier. Unfortunately, scour as I did – I didn’t find any!
