Katherine National Park

The trekking in Katherine National Park were the most interesting and varied of the ones we did in the Northern Territory. The Baruwei Loop walk started off with a steep climb for some spectacular views. If anything it was over 36 degrees Celsius. Thank goodness there was a breeze at the heights overlooking the Katherine Gorges.

The Gorge Cruise visiting the first two gorges on the river were very relaxing.

The Leliyn Trail following the Edith waterfalls along the Edith River was also a very varied walk that we particularly enjoyed.

I notice there is a lot of renaming from the European to the original Aboriginal names for various geographic features. What I called Katherine NP has now been renamed Nitmiluk NP. Very confusing when you have guide books or leaflets printed at different times.
