New Zealand Reflections

On this page, I have potpourri of various photo memories.
We stayed in a number of good places & I listed several after our holiday. Unfortunately on checking some 10 years later (in 2025) there is only the The Adventure Lodge & Motel in Tongariro still operating. I noted that they were friendly & chatty owners. We used their Tongariro Crossing Package & got the “Just Done it!” T-shirt.
We were pleased and would recommend the following excursions we took:-
Around Rotorua we thoroughly enjoyed the Middle Earth Trilogy visiting the Waitomo Caves, Hobbiton Movie Set and Te Puia for the Maori Experience & Geysers.
The Heli-Hike on to Fox Glacier was a most memorable experience, we had never been on a glacier before.
We were just so lucky to have ideal weather for our Milford Sound overnight cruise on the Milford Mariner

Towards the end of the Tramp there is this sign. Unfortunately it is one-way & you cannot go back.
Below, a well deserved rest midway on the tramp.

An interactive aquarium in Hokitika.
Below also in Hokitika, sign on a Police Station wall.

And you wondered why it was called Silver?

On the Otago Peninsula while doing a Nature Trail, we came across this modern shepherd. Notice the rifle over his shoulder.

Don’t Jump!!

Queenstown is famed for its extreme adventure activities. But we take things at our own, slower pace to really enjoy the experiences.
Just Kidding…
