Conjunto Escultorico Che Guevara
This is a massive, brutal monument complex in front of an enormous, overwhelming space. Just what the “State” needs to overwhelm the “individual”.
The remains of Che Guevara & some other revolutionaries are in a small museum, tucked away at the back of this monument.
The monument itself comprises a 7 metre high statue of Che, surrounded by various stone murals.
What a desolate space the monument looks out on.
A rather lonesome monument, not in keeping with its Cuban surroundings, which it tries & fails to dominate.
