Another central Cuban town with grand colonial pretentions in its main square, Parque Leoncio Vidal.

The Tren Blindado Monument A dramatic open-air memorial to a key incident in the Cuban revolution when Che Guevara ambushed a military train at Santa Clara & the offending yellow bulldozer that was used by the guerrillas to remove the rail track causing the derailment.



Hotel La Granjita – was a lovely eco-friendly hotel we stayed in outside Santa Clara.
The evening cabaret shows, though not on the lavish scale of others, were still interesting and possibly showed more authentic Cuban dances.

The Bombax is the State Flower of Cuba.
