Thar Desert Camel Ride
I know it is a corny tourist thing to do, but we still enjoyed the late evening camel ride into the Thar Desert at Sam from Jaisalmer. Our guides managed to take us into a fairly isolated part of the desert.
It was a short ride – about an hour – into the desert. These camels were quite comfortable.

These camels were very docile & curious.
After stopping, this musician came nearby & started playing these pipes. It was very charming. He didn’t hassle us or intrude or ask for money – though obviously that’s why he was doing it & yes we did tip him. I have a couple of videos of the haunting music he played: here & here The videos are poor visual quality by today’s standards, but the music is (for me anyway) very evocative.
Chilled out
Of course it was very romantic!
