Path of the Gods

Called Sentiero degli Dei in Italian, it is a relatively easy hike high up in the Monti Lattari mountain range with stunning coastal views of the Amalfi Coast. Very popular with hikers and possibly the best hiking trail in Italy. Adding to its reputation, the endorsements by the likes of DH Lawrence & Italo Calvo and some romantic stories (farming girls taking their produce down to & back from Amalfi, singing along the way to keep their spirits up) as well as some good marketing (prize to whoever came up with the name for the trek) all add to its fame.
Its length varies depending on which company you go with. We just did a couple of miles of it & enjoyed it thoroughly. The village we stayed in, Bomerano, happened to be the generally accepted start of the trail making it an obvious activity for Exodus to arrange for us.

Path of the Gods
Apparently the Lattari Mountains are named after the milk from the local goats which we noticed on the mountainside. However it wasn’t long before we encountered them almost knocking us off our path as the video shows if you click on either of the pictures below.
