Botswana Elephants

Elderly Elephant eating - note tusks worn down

Nothing like a wallow in mud to cool down...

The joy of it

Enough entertainment

We got in the way of this herd in Moremi National Park. I like the calf trumpetting in the centre.

The elephants were unsure what to do when our jeep did not move

When elephants rock their heads & trunks like a pendulum and keep their ears spread out, that shows that they are angry & threatening.

This is one of the elephants that mock-charged us - very scary!

A more tranquil encounter with a herd of elephants at dusk in Chobe

I liked the calf feeding

I know that this is a silly photo, but it just shows our shadows from the setting sun

Botswana Photos:-

We were lucky to see elephants in all the National Parks we visited. We often saw lone bulls eating, or in one case having a mud bath.
