Tu Duc Tomb
The Lake
One of the most magnificent mortuary enclosures. Built by the emperor Tu Duc in the mid 19th century to house his tomb – though his body is secretly buried elsewhere. It also includes a pleasure palace. Its construction using forced labour caused a mutiny which almost overthrew the emperor.
