Halong Bay

The main harbour is filled at dawn with the tourist boats ready for the off. Luckily the Bay is massive with hundreds of outcrops, so we soon lose the crowds.
Unfortunately it is very misty in the morning, but brightens up in the afternoon allowing better photo opportunities.
Though our photos don’t show it, there is a large amount of pollution in the water – mostly plastic waste thrown out by the boats. You wouldn’t want to swim here.
A little cove hiding a very large cave, Sung Sot Cave.
Possibly the largest cave complex we have been in. Great that it was well lit, but I was not too keen on the garish lighting effects.
