We didn’t plan to climb Al-Khubtha. I was simply trying to find the tomb of Sextius Florentinus and just took a wrong turn up these steps. We ended up a steep unmarked path and just kept going right up to the top – as you do.

The views from the top complemented those we took  earlier from the hike up to the High Place of Sacrifice on the other side of Petra.
