Transylvania
Transylvania is known for its high rugged mountains with tremendous views. The easy trekking didn’t disappoint.
A highlight of the tour was the stay in the Saxon village of Viscri. The way of life here has hardly changed over the last few centuries – ignoring the recent influx of tourists that is! We all stayed in different farm house up the main street of Viscri and met up in Walter’s house for breakfast & dinner. Opposite Walter’s was King Charles’ house that he bought & renovated several years ago.
The cities of Sighisoara, Sibu and Brasov each deserved to be enjoyed over a longer stay than our itinerary unfortunately allowed.
