St John’s Co-Cathedral

St John’s Co-Cathedral is the most magnificent Church in Malta.
The church was richly decorated by the Knights of St John in the 16th Century. Despite being looted by Napoleon at the end of the 18th century, it is still fabulously ornate.
The pulpit & some of the side chapels. Each of the Orders of St John had their own side chapel. Each one trying to out-do the others in decorating them.

In fact everything is very ornate in the Cathedral – the floors…………..the walls ………. and the ceilings – nowhere is unadorned.

Me at my First Holy Communion – 1956. My hair has gone a bit grey since then.

Ann & I resting on the cannon outside the entrance. As a little boy, I was told off for climbing on the cannons.
