La Habana Vieja

Old Havana is a mixture of crowded dilapidated housing next to Government properties & restored tourist buildings.

Cuba Reflections

In the main tourist areas, many old colonial-era properties are now well spruced up to be hotels.

The Floridita Bar was the favourite haunt of Hemingway. There is a statue of him in his regular spot in the corner of the bar.

Another famous bar is the crowded La Bodeguita del Medio.

I wonder if the anagram of Bedlam (almost) on the wall is intentional?

Vintage Car Museum, Calle Oficios. Wandering round the streets (away from our guide), it was surprising what was round some corners. This vintage car museum had many early Rolls-Royces & other European cars, but not one from the USA (maybe they were all still being driven on the roads).

Perfumery. Make up your own perfume?

A gun shop. Maybe tourists from the USA would not be bothered, but I was a bit taken aback by the guns freely displayed for sale.

There were plenty of second-hand bookshops throughout Havana & the other cities & towns we visited, reflecting the literary bias of the country.
