Little remains of the monastery beyond the bell tower – now the symbol of the town.
The “monastery” houses the Museo de la Lucha contra Bandidos, which illustrates the struggles against the counter-revolutionaries of the 1959 revolution.
There are interesting views across Trinidad and the surrounding countryside from the bell tower.
