A long day! We got up at 5:00 a.m. to catch the tour bus to take us to the early ferry to the island. Kangaroo Island is the 3rd largest island off the Australian mainland and is mostly in a pristine condition - in other words little foreign flora or fauna.
First stop was Seal Bay to see a colony of sea lions. While we were watching, one young male encroached too closely to a pack and was aggressively fought off by the alpha male. I have included a video of the incident.
The Remarkable Rocks are a cluster of large granite boulders sculptured by the environment into spectacular shapes.
The Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most biodiverse and pristine eco-systems in Australia concentrating on Koalas.
